The 52 Project: 11/52

'A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week in 2016.'

Dear Ruby,
I love this picture of you. You're standing directly under the stream of water, so content to have water flowing over your face. You've been swimming every week since you were six months old, and I think this has a lot to do with how comfortable you are with having water running into your eyes. For a long time now, you have preferred showers to baths, and I want to remember this.
I took this photo in the middle of the afternoon, right after you had woken up from your nap, having been sick. We don't know what made you sick, but it didn't affect your mood at all. You were happily singing in the shower, 'up, down, up, down, turn it all around, hands in the air and shout, 'hooray!'', which is a song you learnt from Wren, and love to sing to your baby in the bath.
We enjoyed a visit from Nanny and Grandad this weekend, and they were very generous with their time, taking you on trips to the park, walks around the block, reading stories with you, and collecting sticks for you to throw into the river at Snuff Mills. Here's to enjoying life's simple pleasures with family.
All my love,
Mummy xxx
